Context of Hurt Locker

Hurt Locker is not in the classic wartorn movie with a element of a love story, with troop memebers which all have a family to go home to. It actually connotes a group soliders who have one of the most risky jobs which involves putting your own life on the line  defusing bombs in the eye of the war against terrorism.
Hurt Locker was filmed in Jordan, which is just  a few
miles away from the Iraq border which gets the audience the closest that can be to the real situation this illustrates the reality of American military on the war against terroism in 2004. After Sergeant Thompson is replaced with Sergeant James the team starts to go into a decline teamwork wise, James who fails to disarm a bomb strapped to a civillian's body, Sergeant Sanborn becomes a emotional wreck and begins to confess to James in a tearful manor about how he wants to go home safe and can no longer cope serving in Iraq. This therefore connotes that they are just ordinary men who have fears, doubts and the desire to return home safely and also find it har to cope in war. However as James disarms the bombs with no hesistation to do so, it also represents the powerful military made up of high trained combats who are also reckless which show no remorse and not afraid of death.
Even though terrorism involving bombs is the main aspect of the film, there are different perspectives of terrorism exposed to the audience for example when the body of a young Iraqi who goes by the name of Beckham is discovered by the team, sliced open. It leads the audience to belive that not everyone in Iraq is involved and evil ,there are some victims of war in the country who are not invloved.
